Tea towel tote bags

February 28, 2021February 28, 2021 FelyLeave a comment

There is a drawer in my kitchen, jam packed with tea towels that are so cute and colourful but are actually rubbish at doing their job - to dry wet dishes. They have some sort of coating on them that doesn't seem to wash off even after a few spins in the washing machine. So… Continue reading Tea towel tote bags

Wristlet key fob from unwanted old jeans

Turns out that there is quite a lot of fabric you can get from a pair of old jeans. I have a selection of a few pairs of unwanted jeans when my daughter outgrew them in lockdown and decided to repurpose them into something useful. After making a few zipper pouches from just one leg… Continue reading Wristlet key fob from unwanted old jeans

Repurposed old jeans into zipper pouches

February 7, 2021February 14, 2021 Fely1 Comment

If like me, you’ve had the luxury of time to sort out your wardrobe in this lockdown, then you’ll have a bundle or two on a heap, ready for recycling or destined for a popular auction site. In our case, it wasn't so much a result of finding unwanted or unloved pieces of clothing. We… Continue reading Repurposed old jeans into zipper pouches

Basic sewing necessities

February 5, 2021February 10, 2021 FelyLeave a comment

When I first started sewing, I didn't quite know how to equip myself with the basic sewing paraphernalia. I knew the obvious ones like needles and threads but the absence of some of the most basic essentials has proven to cause quite a frustration. It can make you unwillingly stop mid project and potentially lead… Continue reading Basic sewing necessities

Today’s work in progress 😉 #orlakiely #fabric #pegbag #oilcloth #tutorial #blogger #stem
I couldn’t get to my sewing workshop at all this week because it’s been a full on, full time mum kind of week. I’m glad to be in a position where I don’t have to say no to my children when they need my presence. I am also glad that I can make bags because I made this one specifically for a week like this. It’s big enough to hold snacks, a magazine and all the other usual things that mums have to carry. A bit like the one that Mary Poppins had 🤣 #pdfpattern #bagmaking #blogger #bagmaker #orlakiely #photooftheday #oilcloth #bag #fauxleather
Have a very lovely Sunday and a Happy Mother’s Day to those who celebrate. Side note : i’ll share the pattern for this bag soon 🌸 #pdfpattern #bagmaking #blogger #bagmaker #orlakiely
